Professional Growth Plan

Personal Goal Statement

My dream was to become an elementary school librarian so that I could work directly with students to create an encouraging, inspiring learning environment that would support young people in their literacy journey. Having obtained a job as a school librarian at an elementary school, my five-year plan is to grow into this role as a trained professional. I want to improve our collection by simplifying and standardizing the organization of books, expanding access to all library resources, and diversifying our collection to better reflect the needs of the students we serve. I am looking forward to opportunities to collaborate with the teachers and administrators in my school to create “a joyful and respectful learning community” in the years to come.
